Superhero Run to Prevent Child Abuse - April 29th, 2017. 

Proceeds benefit the Exchange Center’s mission to stop child abuse and family violence through counseling, in-home support, and prevention education services.

7th Annual Mardi Gras Charity Ball Scheduled for Febraury 18, 2017

This 4-person scramble will be held at the Dothan National Golf Club. Date to be determined. Registration begins at 8:00 am. Lunch will be provided following the tournament. Shotgun start at 9 a.m.

For parents, who live within the City Limits of Dothan, who are struggling and want in-home support to establish a nurturing and stable environment for their children. No judgements, just support and guidance to help parents achieve their goals for their families.


New Parent Support

Support for new Parents to help prevent child abuse: Through a grant funded by the Alabama Children’s Trust Fund the Exchange Center has partnered with the Southeast Alabama Medical Center to provide support and prevention education to new parents through the “Baby Whisper” Program.

Developing reasonable expectations for new parents, discussing the dangers of shaking a baby, and educating parents on how to calm a crying baby and community resources for parents. This program will also help parents to develop a plan to cope with sleep deprivation, feelings of postpartum depression, and for respite.

   Teen Pregnancy Support & New Mom Training to help prevent child abuse.

Family Counseling

Our Family Counseling is to help families heal from past traumas, to work cohesively together to develop healthy communication and foster a loving and nurturing relationship between family members.

Free Counseling for Abuse Survivors

Therapy can help a person express and process difficult emotions associated with the abuse, develop self-compassion and self-care strategies for managing moments when he or she feels emotionally overwhelmed, and learn to trust again.

We believe that knowledge is power, and we strive to educate the Wiregrass on topics ranging from “Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing” for parents to help identify potential red flags for predators, to the “Impacts of Child Abuse” for professionals to help build empathy and a plan for working with child survivors of abuse.
